Our specialized Glucose Blood Collection Tubes are designed for the precise measurement of blood glucose and alcohol levels, where sample stability is critical. The tube contains a mixture of Sodium Fluoride (NaF) as a glycolytic inhibitor and Potassium Oxalate (K₂Ox) as an anticoagulant.
Sodium Fluoride effectively inhibits the enzyme enolase, halting glycolysis within red blood cells and preserving the *in vivo* glucose concentration for up to 48-72 hours after collection. This ensures the accuracy of tests where glucose degradation is a concern, making it the gold-standard tube for reliable glucose and forensic alcohol determinations.
